Upgrade procedures and backward compatibility

Perform the following steps to upgrade to OMP-AMIS version 8.6:

  • Install the application and empty database.
  • Open the database and import the data from the previous database.
  • Open the application and recalculate the data.
  • Review parameters and system settings. Adjust values, if necessary.
  • Recreate the GIS back-end database

(for installation details, see What’s new in version 8.5)

Note: the AMIS 8.6 application and database files are based on a different database structure and will therefore not work when they are linked to a database or application from a previous version (8.5 or earlier). You need to install an empty database and import data first, if you want to work with older data sets.

The data import process will convert all existing data into the new format; no data will be lost or need to be re-entered.

  • Companies with a large number of users should upgrade all OMP installations at the same time to avoid running a mix of different versions.
